Military & Veterans Affairs Launches Media Campaign to Reach Underserved Veterans
LA County Department of Military & Veterans Affairs featured on KABC, KLOS, PWR 106 and KDAY to inform Veterans of available resources and services.
LOS ANGELES, CA – On Saturday, October 8th, the Los Angeles County Department of Military & Veterans Affairs (MVA) will air the first of six radio shows entitled You’ve Served, You’ve Earned on Talk Radio 790 KABC as part of an extensive media campaign to educate the many underserved veterans and their families in LA County.
The show will run for six consecutive weeks, airing Saturdays at 11:30 AM.
The first show will center on women veterans and the issues they face when seeking help. Other shows will discuss the effective use of peer advocacy, the LA Veterans Collaborative, Military Sexual Trauma, the PACT ACT and other vital topics related to those currently serving or those who have ever been a part of the US Armed Forces.
The long format radio show is part of a major media campaign MVA has launched entitled Vet Day LA, which will run until Veterans Day on November 11th, aimed at reaching military veterans and their families to make them aware of services and benefits to which they are entitled.
The Vet Day LA campaign is utilizing a multi-media format to reach this target audience, engaging extensive radio, television, direct marketing and social media efforts. Throughout the months of October and November, :30 and :60 spots will run on KABC-AM, KLOS-FM, PWR 106-FM, and KDAY-FM, along with morning drive interviews featuring veterans and VSOs.
Additionally, filmed interviews with Veteran Service Officers and a veteran who received services will be distributed on the stations’ social media platforms, available here.

The LA County Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) provides assistance to LA County veterans, active service members and their families with resources, programs, services and state and federal benefits, including: compensation and pension claims, burial benefits and services, medical and mental health referral, education and vocational rehabilitation, home loans and grants applications, employment and job placement assistance, DMV veteran designation, legal service referrals, appeal processes, incarcerated veterans and aid and attendance.
