Los Angeles General Medical Center Receives Prestigious ‘A’ Safety Grade from the Leapfrog Group, Nationally Recognized for Excellence

Los Angeles, CA, Los Angeles General Medical Center (LA General), a cornerstone of healthcare excellence deeply rooted in the vibrant community of Boyle Heights, proudly announces its achievement of the prestigious Leapfrog Safety Grade A. This accolade underscores LA General’s unwavering dedication to patient safety and exemplary healthcare standards, reaffirming its position as a trusted healthcare provider within the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services.

Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.  LA General’s attainment of the Safety Grade A reflects its unwavering commitment to patient safety and its ongoing pursuit of excellence in healthcare delivery.

Los Angeles General Medical Center (LA General) is an over 600-bed, Level One Trauma Center and an academic teaching hospital run by the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS). Through affiliation with Keck School of Medicine of USC, LA General is one of the premier training sites for intern and resident physicians completing their Graduate Medical Education. LA General operates special units that serve patients across the Southern California region, including a Burn Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and Psychiatric and Pediatric Emergency Rooms.
