Los Angeles General Medical Center Continues its Streak as a Leader in LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality in 2024
Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles General Medical Center proudly announces its recognition as a leading institution in LGBTQ+ healthcare equality for the consecutive year of 2024. This prestigious acknowledgment is bestowed upon the medical center by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Healthcare Equality Index (HEI), where Los Angeles General once again secured the top score of 100, earning the esteemed “LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader” designation. This accolade underscores the medical center’s steadfast dedication to providing inclusive and affirming care to all patients, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.
The HEI serves as the nation’s premier benchmarking survey, meticulously evaluating healthcare facilities’ policies and practices aimed at fostering equitable treatment and inclusion of LGBTQ+ individuals. Los Angeles General’s exemplary score reaffirms its unwavering commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare.

Los Angeles General Medical Center (LA General) is an over 600-bed, Level One Trauma Center and an academic teaching hospital run by the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS).
