Preliminary Estimate of Outstanding Ballots Left to be Processed
in the City of Los Angeles Council District 6 Special Runoff Election
LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC) Dean C. Logan announced the preliminary estimate of outstanding ballots left to be processed in the City of Los Angeles Council District 6 Special Runoff Election.
This estimate includes Vote by Mail ballots, Conditional Voter Registration ballots, and Provisional ballots cast on Election Day:
- Vote by Mail ballots:Â 3,240
- Conditional Voter Registration ballots:Â 26
- Provisional ballots:Â 7
- Miscellaneous ballots*:Â 7
The Vote by Mail estimate includes ballots received on Election Day by the United States Postal Service or returned in person at a Ballot Drop Box or Vote Center. It also includes ballots that are pending signature cures from voters whose signature was missing or did not match their registration record. These voters have been notified with instructions on how to cure their ballot to be counted.
The number of outstanding Vote by Mail ballots will increase as the RR/CC continues to accept ballots that are postmarked by Election Day and received through Wednesday, July 5 (E+8) due to the holiday on Tuesday, July 4 (E+7). These ballots are not included in the preliminary estimate.
The RR/CC prioritizes the timely processing, verifying, and counting of outstanding ballots in the Official Election Canvass. The first post-Election Night results update will be released on Friday, June 30, which is consistent with the RR/CC’s Canvass Update Schedule published before the election.
*Includes ballots that are damaged, need to be remade, or require further review.
