HHH and JCOD Celebrate Ribbon Cutting of New Community Resource Center in South Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES – Holliday’s Helping Hands (HHH), in partnership with the Los Angeles County Justice, Care and Opportunities Department (JCOD) hosted the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Community Resource Center in South Los Angeles today.
The resource center offers essential services for individuals who have faced barriers such as justice involvement or homelessness, offering housing navigation, financial literacy training and community assistance. The center collaborates with faith-based organizations and social service agencies to ensure a holistic approach to stabilizing lives and working toward long-term success.
“By investing in organizations like Holliday’s Helping Hands, the County, in partnership with philanthropy, is bringing its care first commitment directly to the communities most impacted by our justice system,” said Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell. “I look forward to more residents and their families being able to beat recidivism and thrive in their neighborhoods thanks to vital services like housing support and other life-changing opportunities the resource center will provide.”
“This center represents a commitment to turning challenges into opportunities. With the right resources, support and guidance, individuals who have faced barriers can rebuild their lives and thrive,” said JCOD Director Judge Songhai Armstead (Ret.). “The work being done here at Holliday’s Helping Hands is a testament to what is possible when we invest in hope and human potential.”
The new resource center is located at 510 W. 53rd St. in Los Angeles and was made possible by support from JCOD’s Care First Community Investment Care Grant. The center is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“Holliday’s Helping Hands – knows our clients; we are them. We want each person to feel they are not only a participant but seen as an individual,” said HHH Founder and Executive Director Katina Holliday.
