Tenth Post-Election Night Ballot Count Update for the 2024 General Election
LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC) Dean C. Logan announced the tenth post-Election Night ballot count update for the November 5, 2024 General Election.
The update includes 15,692 ballots processed since Election Night. This update includes Vote by Mail ballots returned by mail, in a Ballot Drop Box and Vote Center, and Provisional and Conditional Voter Registration ballots cast on Election Day.
The total election results count is now 3,733,141, which is 65.07% of registered voters. Election results can be viewed on LAVOTE.GOV.
The next ballot count update will be on Monday, November 18. The full schedule of updates can be viewed on the Canvass Update Schedule.
The estimate of outstanding ballots to be processed is 79,400. See the categories below:
- Vote by Mail ballots:Â 23,000
- Conditional Voter Registration ballots:Â 55,000
- Provisional ballots:Â 1,400
The Vote by Mail estimate includes ballots returned on Election Day in surrounding county drop boxes or Vote Centers. These ballots were returned Wednesday, November 13 (E+8), which is the legal deadline to transfer ballots to the respective county.
The estimate also includes ballots pending signature cures from voters whose signatures on the Return Envelope were either missing or did not match their registration records. These voters have been notified and instructed on how to cure their ballots to be counted. The RR/CC will accept ballot cure notices through December 1, 2024.
Outstanding estimates are Countywide and are not currently available by jurisdiction as ballots are received and processed in batches throughout the county. The RR/CC prioritizes the timely processing, verification, and counting of all outstanding ballots in the Official Election Canvass.
The Official Election Canvass is a 30-day period in which the RR/CC processes and verifies all outstanding ballots to ensure that every eligible ballot cast by Election Day is counted.
