Credible Messenger and Diversion Programs Recognized by Productivity & Quality Awards

Los Angeles County, CA – The Department of Youth Development (DYD) received two awards at this week’s 37th Annual Los Angeles County Productivity and Quality Awards in recognition of the Department’s innovative programs for young people.  

The Productivity and Quality Awards received approximately 90 submissions reflecting a wide range of innovative programs across the County and this year’s theme of “Commitment to Serving People and Solving Problems.” 

DYD’s Credible Messenger Transformative Mentorship program received a Top Ten Award, representing special recognition to the Top Ten projects submitted for consideration. DYD accepted the Top Ten Award with program partners from the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, Healing Dialogue and Action, and Young Women’s Freedom Center. 

DYD’s Youth Diversion & Development program was recognized with a Special Merit Award, reflecting meritorious accomplishment of special projects or programs that successfully fulfill departmental and County objectives. DYD accepted the Special Merit Award with program partners from the District Attorney’s Office.
