First Post-Election Ballot Count Update for the City of Sierra Madre Special Municipal Election

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC) Dean C. Logan announced the first post-election ballot count update for the City of Sierra Madre Special Municipal Election.

The update includes 856 ballots processed since Election Night. The total election results count is now 4,128 which is 48.80% of registered voters. Election results can be viewed on LAVOTE.GOV.

There are 18 outstanding Vote by Mail ballots left to be processed. All of these ballots are pending signature cures from voters whose signature was missing on the Return Envelope or did not match their registration record. These voters have been notified with instructions on how to cure their ballot to be counted.

The RR/CC will continue to accept Vote by Mail ballots that are postmarked by Election Day and received through Tuesday, May 16 (E+7). These ballots are not included in the estimate.

The RR/CC prioritizes the timely processing, verifying, and counting of outstanding ballots in the Official Election Canvass. The next ballot count update is Friday, May 19 when the RR/CC is scheduled to certify election results.
