LA COUNTY PARKS AND THE MUSIC CENTER ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIPS FOR SERIES OF SPRING PROGRAMS

Los Angeles, Calif. – The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation and The Music Center today announced a partnership to bring a number of live performing arts shows from their signature Arts Grown L.A program to a number of Parks and Recreation programs this Spring. As part of  LA County Parks’ continuing efforts to offer the community both entertaining and educational experiences through live performance, LA County Parks’ Parks After Dark, Nature in Your Neighborhood and the Super Special Art Festival will host these special performances, which are presented in conjunction with The Music Center’s Arts Grown L.A., a community collaboration created to deepen and expand the reach of free artistic events and performances throughout L.A. County.

From March 23rd to April 8th, Parks After Dark will host a number of music, dance and cultural performances from a wide array of Music Center artists. Across 34 Parks After Dark locations, you can see acts like the String Family Player, Sakai Flamenco, Indian Mythology and Me, INCA Peruvian Ensemble, TAIKOPROJECT, Korea Classical Music, Jazz It Up!, Melody of China and the Futa Toro West African Dance Ensemble. Arts Grown L.A., a TMC Arts program, builds on The Music Center’s highly successful partnerships with community groups and local artists to offer free, family-friendly performances and artmaking experiences for all ages. In collaboration with community locations such as libraries, community centers and parks among other sites, Music Center artists bring their creativity and talents to many neighborhoods across Los Angeles County. Performances, workshops and special experiences highlight the diverse cultural traditions of the county and the world.

LA County Parks’ Parks After Dark is an award-winning program designed to bring communities together by turning park spaces into safe havens with hands-on activities and entertainment. The Spring edition of Parks after Dark kicks-off March 23 and runs through April 15 on Thursday and Saturday nights from 6 to 9 pm for two evenings of fun. Workshops and activities include music, canvas painting, culinary art, family dances, arts, and crafts, and so much more. This season, LA County is dedicated to bringing the world to you through music, dance and cultural performances sponsored by The Music Center.
