To help you stay healthy this season, LA County Library is partnering with LA County Department of Public Health to provide free flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccines, and updated bivalent boosters (which protects against both the original Coronavirus strain and the newer Omicron strains) to people 6 months of age and older, no health insurance required. Last year, 1,649 free flu immunizations and COVID-19 vaccinations were given at libraries.

According to the CDC, COVID-19 vaccines are effective at protecting people from getting seriously ill, being hospitalized, and dying. As with other diseases, you are best protected from COVID-19 when you stay up to date with the recommended vaccines, including boosters.

LA County Department of Public Health recommends flu vaccinations for everyone 6 months of age and over, including healthy children and adults. The flu vaccine has been shown to reduce flu-related illnesses and the risk of serious flu complications that can result in hospitalization or even death.

Vaccine clinics will take place at 20 select LA County Library locations from October 18 – November 22. To avoid long wait times, it is recommended that you make an appointment at your preferred location online at myturn.ca.gov and search by address or zip code. Clinics are open for walk-ins. Vaccines are available while supplies last. For more information about the clinics, including a full list of dates and locations, visit LACountyLibrary.org/VaccineClinics.

“We’re excited to work with Public Health to provide our customers opportunities to access effective vaccines” said LA County Library Director Skye Patrick. “Providing this valuable resource to the community helps keep everyone healthier.”
