Fifth Post-Election Ballot Count Update for the Primary Election

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC) announced the fifth post-election ballot count update for the Primary Election.

The update includes 5,316 ballots processed since Election Night. The total election results count is now 1,619,226 which is 28.45% of registered voters. Election results can be viewed on LAVOTE.GOV.

Ballot count updates are of smaller quantities now as we near completion of the Official Election Canvass and the outstanding ballots go through verification or are pending signature curing.

The estimated number of outstanding ballots to be processed is 7,075. See estimates below:

  • Vote by Mail ballots (VBM): 6,900
  • Provisional and Conditional Voter Registration ballots: 175

The estimated number of outstanding Vote by Mail ballots includes those postmarked by Election Day and received by June 14 (E+7). The estimate also includes ballots that are pending signature cures from voters whose signature on the Return Envelope was missing or did not match their registration record. These voters have been notified with instructions on how to cure their ballot to be counted.

The next post-election ballot count will be on Tuesday, June 28. The full schedule of election result updates can be viewed on the Canvass Update Schedule. The RR/CC is scheduled to certify election results on July 1.

The RR/CC prioritizes the timely processing, verifying, and counting of outstanding ballots in the Official Election Canvass. The Official Election Canvass is a 30-day period where the RR/CC processes and verifies all outstanding ballots to ensure every eligible ballot cast by Election Day is counted.
