To actively support a more age-friendly Los Angeles County, these transportation and mobility services are dedicated to older and dependent adults.
SUPPORTIVE SERVICES AND GUIDANCE
On the Move Riders Program connects older adults to new friends who can teach you how to “Go Metro.” Learn from peers who know the ins and outs of getting around on public transportation – then take a test ride together!
Provides older adults ages 62 and older with the ability to visit Los Angeles County beaches free of charge
TRANSPORTATION SUPPORT
Paratransit services for older adults and people with disabilities living in unincorporated LA County; These services provide curb-to-curb, shared ride van service to any location within specific areas. The fare is 50 cents and appointments are required.
Discounted Metro monthly passes are available to adults ages 62 and older, people with disabilities, and students (Kindergarten through the 12th grade and College/Vocational students) who live in the LA County.
The WDACS New Freedom Taxicab Services Program provides taxicab services to eligible clients. Those who meet the program eligibility criteria may use taxicab services for their transportation needs, such as medical appointments, grocery shopping, banking, or life-enriching activities. Clients can take a maximum of four, one-way trips totaling 40 miles each month at no cost to the participant. All rides must originate and end in Los Angeles County.
