CELEBRATING JUNETEENTH

LA County is celebrating Juneteenth with a number of community events and programs happening throughout the weekend. Check out the list below to find a Juneteenth event near you.

LA County Library

Visit LA County Library’s Juneteenth page  to check out upcoming programming curated by their Education & Engagement team. From the SmartyPants Storytime on June 17 to Juneteenth 2022: Celebration of Freedom with Storyteller Binnie Tate Wilkin on June 18, to booklists developed for Adults and Children & Teens — there is something for people of all ages to enjoy, celebrate and honor Juneteenth. 

You can also find additional Juneteenth resources on their site, including movies on Kanopy, music on Freegal, and digital books on OverDrive.

LA County Parks and Recreation

LA County Parks and Recreation invites you to Juneteenth celebrations, on Saturday, June 18th, all across L.A. County!

Juneteenth Celebrations are hosted in partnership with local community organizations and activities will feature musical performances, speaker’s series, wellness activities, resource fairs, artist experiences, hands-on children’s activities and so much more.

These are FREE events with no registration required. Please join us at the following parks and celebrate Juneteenth with us:

Celebrations on Saturday, June 18, 2022:

  • El Cariso Park – 13100 Hubbard St. Sylmar from 2 pm to 6 pm
  • Jackie Robinson Park – 8773 E Avenue R Sun Village from 10 am to 10 pm
  • Dalton Park – 18867 E. Armstead St. Azusa from 1 pm to 6 pm
  • Earvin Magic Johnson Park – 905 E. El Segundo Blvd., Los Angeles from 4 pm to 6 pm
