Evacuations

Evacuation Terminology Definitions

  • Evacuation Order: Immediate threat to life. This is a lawful order to LEAVE NOW. The area is lawfully closed to public access.
  • Evacuation Warning: Potential threat to life and/or property.  Those who require additional time to evacuate, and those with pets and livestock should leave now.
  • Shelter In Place: Go indoors. Shut and lock doors and windows. Prepare to self-sustain until further notice and/or contacted by emergency personnel for additional direction.

Evacuation Orders 

  • View a map of Evacuation Areas on Genasys Protect. Evacuation Orders have been issued for the following areas:
    • South of Piuma Road, north of the Pacific Ocean coastline, east of Puerco Canyon Road/Corral Canyon Park, west of Los Flores Canyon Road
    • Between the Pacific Ocean coastline and Tuna Canyon Park to the west of Tuna Canyon Road

Evacuation Warnings: 

  • View a map of Evacuation Areas on Genasys Protect. Evacuation Warnings have been issued for the following areas:
    • East of Trancas Canyon Road and Kanan Dune Road, west of Topanga Canyon Blvd/Surfview Drive, south of Mulholland Highway, north of Evacuation Order boundary. Includes Topanga Zone 8 and 10

Shelter in Place

  • Per Pepperdine University, the Shelter in Place protocol for the campus was activated and all members of the campus community are to follow instructions from University officials.

  • Calabasas Community Center—27040 Malibu Hills Rd., Calabasas,  CA 91301
  • Santa Monica Unified School District Facility at 2802 4th St., Santa Monica , CA 90405
    • Pets in crates welcome

Animal Shelters

Small Animals:

  • Agoura Animal Care Center – 29525 Agoura Road, Agoura Hills, CA 91301

Large Animals:

  • Pierce College: 6201 Winnetka Ave, Woodland Hills, CA 91367

  • The Malibu Library is closed due to the Franklin Fire. Please visit LACountyLibrary.org to access online resources

Health Alerts
Road Closures

Road Closures/Cierres de Carrerteras:

  • Pacific Coast Highway closed between Topanga Canyon Blvd and Kanan Dume Road. Will only be open those actively evacuating the area
  • Los Virgenes Road at Mulholland Highway
