LA County Library Celebrates National Library Week, Inviting Residents to Find Their Joy at the Library
Special events taking place April 20-25 highlight the many ways libraries bring communities together through learning, creativity, and joy.

Los Angeles County, CA – LA County Library is inviting residents to celebrate National Library Week, April 20-25, 2026, with special events and activities across the County that encourage customers of all ages to explore, create, and connect. This year’s theme, “Find Your Joy,” highlights the many ways libraries help transform lives and strengthen communities. Throughout the week, LA County Library locations will host a variety of programs that reflect the joy of reading, learning, and self-expression. Featured events include:
“National Library Week is a celebration of the joy libraries bring to our communities every day,” said Dr. Skye Patrick, County Librarian and Director of LA County Library. “Whether someone finds joy in discovering a new book, attending a program, learning a skill, connecting with others, or simply feeling welcomed and supported, LA County Library is proud to be a place where that joy can grow.” LA County Library remains committed to providing discovery, access, and opportunity for all. From borrowing materials and attending events to using free Wi-Fi, learning new skills, or simply finding a quiet place to read and reflect, the library offers welcoming spaces and resources that support the community every day.
