Fifth Post-Election Night Ballot Count Update for the 2025 Statewide Special Election

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC) Dean C. Logan announced the fifth post-Election Night ballot count update for the November 4, 2025 Statewide Special Election.

The update includes 14,741 ballots processed since the fourth post-Election Night update. This update includes ballots returned to the United States Postal Service (USPS), Ballot Drop Box, and cast at Vote Centers on Election Day.

The total election results count is now 2,599,629, which is 44.48% of registered voters. Election results can be viewed on LAVOTE.GOV.

The next ballot count update will be on Thursday, November 13. The full schedule of ballot counting updates is available on the Canvass Update Schedule.

The estimate of outstanding ballots to be processed is 22,200. See the categories below:

  • Vote by Mail ballots: 20,000*
  • Conditional Voter Registration ballots: 2,000
  • Provisional ballots: 200

*The Vote by Mail estimate includes ballots returned by Election Day in surrounding counties. Counties have eight (8) days from receipt to transfer them to the respective County.

The Vote by Mail estimate also includes ballots pending signature cures from voters whose signatures on the Return Envelope were missing or did not match their registration records. These voters have been notified and instructed on how to cure their ballots so they can be counted. The RR/CC will accept ballot cure notices through November 30, 2025.

Outstanding estimates are Countywide and are not currently available by jurisdiction, as ballots are received and processed in batches throughout the county. The RR/CC will continue to process, verify, and count all outstanding ballots in the Official Election Canvass.
