Ocean Water Use Advisories for Los Angeles County Beaches

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health urges residents to avoid swimming, surfing, and playing in ocean waters at the following Los Angeles County beaches.

NEW OCEAN WATER ADVISORIES (NON-FIRE RELATED)

  • An ocean water advisory has been issued to the following ocean and bay areas:
    • Herondo Street storm drain in Hermosa Beach near Hermosa Tower TK: 100 yards up and down coast of the storm drain.
    • Solstice Creek at Dan Blocker County Beach: 100 yards up and down the coast from the creek.
    • Inner Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro: The entire swim area.
  • This advisory has been issued due to bacterial levels exceeding health standards when last tested. People entering these waters could become ill. This advisory will remain in place until lifted by the Department of Public Health.

OCEAN WATER CLOSURE DUE TO SEWAGE RELEASE REMAINS

  • An ocean water closure due to sewage remains for the following ocean and bay area:
    • From Encinal Canyon to 31250 Broad Beach Rd., in Malibu.
  • This closure remains in effect until Public Health receives two sampling results indicating that bacterial levels meet health standards.

OCEAN WATER CLOSURE AND ADVISORY DUE TO FIRE IMPACTS REMAIN

  • An ocean water closure and advisory due to fire related impacts have been issued for the following ocean and bay areas:
    • An ocean water closure from Las Flores State Beach to Santa Monica State Beach.
    • An ocean water advisory from Surfrider Beach to Las Flores State Beach and from Santa Monica State Beach to Dockweiler State Beach at World Way.
  • These remain in effect until further notice.
