County Redistricting
Data The following material
provides the documents and information needed to prepare a Redistricting
Plan, plus a variety of demographic data that can be used to help determine
the impact of proposed Supervisorial district boundary changes. Clicking on any description
starts a download process which will send a "self extracting" file
to any designated directory on a personal computer. Once downloaded, the file
can be "executed," resulting in one or more data files and a
related description file. Redistricting Plan This section includes the Submittal File that is to be
used to create and document a proposed Redistricting Plan along with the
basic data needed to prepare a plan.
AutoBound Package AutoBound is a sophisticated Geographical Information
System (GIS) computer program that Los Angeles County is using to
"analyze" proposed Redistricting Plans. This package contains a
basic plan with current district assignments and relevant data that can be
used by autoBound.
GeoTrack Package GeoTrack is a free GIS program that can be used to prepare
a Redistricting Plan. It provides similar, but less capable, features to
autoBound. This package contains the GeoTrack program, a basic plan with
current district assignments, and basic data.
Supplemental Data: The following sections contain geographic and demographic
data that may be useful in preparing a proposed Redistricting Plan.
This download contains files
you can use to superimpose 2000 census tracts on the Thomas Guide Digital
Edition. You must have version 4.10 or above with California Statewide, Los
Angeles and Orange Counties, or Los Angeles and Ventura Counties map
information. It will be most useful for people who want to determine the
census tracts for specific street addresses.
