2001 Supervisorial Redistricting

Proposed Redistricting Plans

This page provides a listing of all Proposed Redistricting Plans submitted to the Boundary Review Committee (BRC) on or before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2001.

The following information is available:

• Submittal File containing the “Proposed Redistricting Plan Submittal Form” and “Reassignments List” plus attachments that were actually submitted (Adobe Acrobat “pdf” format).
• Assignment File, prepared by County staff, containing the Redistricting Unit assignments in the “dbf” format compatible with Geographical Information System (GIS) software. Clicking on the description of an “exe” file will start a download process that will send a self-extracting file to any designated directory on your personal computer. Once downloaded, you may “execute” the file, resulting in a “File Description” document and the “Assignments“ dbf file.
• Snapshot Map, prepared by County staff, showing a high level overview of the new Supervisorial District boundaries contained in the submitted plan (Adobe Acrobat “pdf” format).
• Analysis Report, prepared by County staff, documenting the submitted plan in a standard format that allows it to be evaluated against the key required demographic and geographic factors (Adobe Acrobat “pdf” format).

You may download any of the plans. Please note that the “pdf” files require Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 or greater.

Benchmark Redistricting Plan

The Benchmark Redistricting Plan shows current Supervisorial Districts with 2000 data. The Boundary Review Committee has accepted this as one of the plans that will be analyzed. Note: Since this plan represents the current districts, there is no Submittal File.

Note: Plan B2 was withdrawn by the proposer on June 4, 2001. Plan B2 was an alternative configuration referred to in Plan B1 but not specifically identified. The Committee directed County staff to provide a summary report on the alternative although the proposer had withdrawn the alternative. A summary report was provided and no further analysis will occur.
